How do you get appendicitis?
77You can't prevent it, it just happens. The appendix becomes inflamed and irritated, becomes infected and then causes pain. If you do not get seen in time to have it removed, it can burst and kill you. If you are having pain in the lower right side of your abdomen, then you need to go to your family doctor or the emergency room to have it checked out. They can do a CT scan and see if it is enlarged and also will do blood work to see if you have an infection. If you do, it is a simple procedure to have it removed and you will be out of the hospital within 24 hours of surgery. If you are in that much pain and having nausea, vomiting, or fever, then go the ER.

Appendicitis is fairly uncommon at this age, so it's likely something else, but it is possible. Appendicitis can be hard for a parent to diagnose, though. At first, it may seem a lot like stomach flu. The classic symptoms are abdominal pain...

You don't actually 'get' it. The appendix, which is a useless, pointless interior appendage becomes inflamed (beyond my ken) and if not removed can burst possibly cansing death. Don't try this at home, but a Russian peasant, isolated on the eastern Steppes, knew, from his pain, that he would soon die if he didn't remove his own appendix. He did so with a pocket knife, successfully. With ensuing treatment and medication, including antibiotics, at a hospital, he survived. Many people who go into the wilderness for an extended period of time, have an appendectomy prior to leaving.
It is just an inflammation of the appendix and can be due to many reasons. In severe cases it may burst, causing a secondary infection in the gut that can be fatal.

Lower pain is a sign, but it’s usually really really bad pain! Also throwing up and the pain is less when you bring your knees up to your chest. I’m not sure why you get it and I’m not sure doctors know why either.
I don’t know if you’re a guy or a girl, but I’ve had an ovarian cyst rupture and I thought it could be appendicitis. I was fine though and needed no medical treatment!

The appendage is a small unnecessary additional part of the intestine which can get clogged during normal digestion. The appendage receives a large piece of food, blocking passage, resulting with infection followed by operation.
It's not like a virus where you can catch it. Either you get it or you don't. As far as I know there is no specific cause of appendicitis, nor is there a function to your appendix(you don't need it). Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to prevent it. The majority go through life with no problems at all.
Yes and i believe there is no genetic tie to appendictis either. But i think there may be a link between a cause and an effect of some sort that science or medicine hasnt discovered. Its honestly nothing to worry about dont have anexiety of pains in your lower side or anything because it could be a common stomach ache or virus. And one of the most common Sicknesses confused with Appendictis is gastronitis which causes some acute cramps i the lower digestive system.I mean it is so often confused with appencitis its not even funny. But trust me if your having an appendictis you will know.
